Meet Mark Moores

New Mexico State Senator Mark Moores and family.Moores has a long family history in New Mexico. His mother’s side of the family has lived in the farming community of San Pedro for generations. “I’m a proud New Mexican. However, I am concerned about the culture of corruption that seems to have taken over in Santa Fe. Pay-to-play politics and backroom political deals must end. I say enough is enough and I will fight to return integrity to the system.”

Standing at 6’6″, Mark attended UNM on a scholarship to play football. He received a BA in Political Science while being a four year letterman on the offensive line for the Lobos. He later earned a MBA from the UNM Anderson School of Management. He is the former President of the UNM Lettermen Association and is currently a Board Member on the UNM Lobo Club.

Professionally, Mark has an extensive background in public policy, business and community service. He had the pleasure of working for the Late Congressman Steve Schiff right out of college then Mark served as Chief of Staff for Lt. Governor Walter Bradley in Santa Fe during the Johnson/Bradley administration.

New Mexico Dsitric 21 State Senator Mark MooresAfter leaving public service and earning his MBA, Mark worked in the auto industry coordinating marketing and sales in eastern Texas for the Chrysler Corporation. He currently serves as Executive Director of the New Mexico Dental Association. He was part of the team that coordinated the single largest charitable event in the history of the state. New Mexico Mission of Mercy served 2,201 members of our community, giving away $1.3 million in free dental care over two-days.

Mark is married to LeeAnn who teaches math at La Cueva High School. They have been married for 17 years and together they have a daughter, Sara, who attends La Cueva High School.
